NW Passge skimo race, Brundage, December 16-17 was created by mccallboater
Calling all skimo enthusiasts and wannabe's. Idaho's first
USSMA
sanctioned ski mountaineering race, one of two early season races that will determine the US world cup team, will be held December 16 and 17 at
Brundage Ski Resort, McCall Idaho
. Sign up to race, or volunteer by contacting me to help. This is the our first year of the Northwest Passage race, so we will need all the help we can get from folks like you.
Yes, we will riff off the 1940 Spencer Tracy movie of the same name, filmed in McCall. Participants in the Friday evening vert event are encouraged to race in Roger's Rangers costume.
After the race Saturday evening, enjoy BBQ, podium awards and shwag, plus a showing of the Winter Wildlands Alliance Backcountry Film Festival . There is much more for families and friends of racers to do in McCall. Enjoy our little town.

The registration link takes you to another race, here's the page I found:
ultrasignup.com/register.aspx?did=41743
Are there classes or is it just one open class?

Thanks Jason for catching that link problem. Two divisions we think. Elite and recreational. The vert race on Friday might also have a junior division. We need to see how many show interest. We are trying to design 6000' of climbing into the elite class. 3-4000 for the recreational class. Since this is our first year, we will need to make late course changes depending on snow and avi conditions. But we have some great terrain to work with.
