Recco tag vendors? was created by Charlie Hagedorn
The protracted nature of the Snoqualmie search has led me to consider sewing a Recco tag into my touring pants. Searching the web, it looks like Recco used to sell tags, but I can't find a current vendor.

Anyone have a link to a supplier (or a worn out garment or two with a Recco tag)?

Thanks!

Reposting from a TGR thread on the subject

RECCO wrote: I am going to disappoint some folks because we no longer sell separately RECCO reflectors. A few shops might (but probably don't) have some in stock. We stopped for three reasons. First, folks put reflectors on things they shouldn't, like skis, snowboards, ski poles, cameras, even dogs. As you can imagine, we (and rescuers) would hate to dig up someone's ski or camera before we find the person. Second, instead of placing reflectors on boots or a helmet, many people tend not to follow directions, and do not apply reflectors properly. Instead, they carry the reflectors in a pocket, and most pockets are a poor place for reflectors. It has to do with how a body attenuates the Recco signal. The locations of reflectors on a person are very important and these locations are much easier to control when dealing directly with equipment producers. Lastly, from a business standpoint it is a lot easier sell and equip very large numbers of people by working directly with the brands, rather than trying to sell a few reflectors to many individual shops.

How old is this technology now?  Maybe you could do a thrift store scavenger hunt. You are in Seattle, home of Macklemore.

Good idea! I'll have to scrounge the next time I'm at Goodwill; it'll give new meaning to popping tags.

I just came across this from a UK retailer. Recco reflectors that one can attach to appropriate gear:

20 pounds sterling plus shipping.
