Just watched another great Bill Moyers interview, this time with James Balog who has spent the last number of years time-lapse photographing the retreat of northern glaciers. www.extremeicesurvey.org/

He has come out with a new book "Ice, portraits of vanishing glaciers" and is coming out with a new movie, "Chasing Ice" that is a Sundance Film Festival award winner.

This looks to be quite interesting material. Balog mentioned that former Seattleite, Tad Pfeffer, was a chief assistant scientist on this project. Pfeffer was a sometime backcountry ski and climbing partner of mine in the mid-80's while he was a grad student in Geophysics at the U of W.

Probably won't be much of a "feel good" kind of film but the visuals certainly will be impressive and amazing. Looking forward to seeing it..
