SUBMISSIONS SOUGHT FOR LOCAL OUTDOOR FILM FESTIVAL
Do you have an exciting outdoor adventure story that needs to be on the big screen?  The Hurricane Ridge Winter Sports Club is soliciting submissions for a local outdoor film festival, with over $1,000 in cash and prizes for the winners.

The purpose the event is to feature the outdoor recreational opportunities that exist on the Olympic Peninsula. The submissions will be judged on three factors: Local interest, technical merit, and stoke factor.  “We don’t want to limit people’s ideas too much.  If you’ve made a movie about outdoor recreation on the Olympic Peninsula, we want to see it.  We’ve seen great films put up by local film makers and want to showcase that local talent,” says event organizer and HRWSC Board Member Frank Crippen.

The top films will be shown May 14, at BarN9ne as part of the “Second Saturday” series.  “We started the series with a nationally produced film festival and want to finish with our local film festival,” says Crippen.  “We think we have some talent, and some interesting stories to tell from the Peninsula.”
