Keep Your Calenders Open, Upcoming Events...

Ashcan, sort of beat me to it, but there will be some upcoming additional events that you all might be interested in ...

1. This Saturday at 6 p.m. at Nectar Lounge in Fremont there will be a showing of the new Powder Whores movie PW07, there will be a raffle of which the proceeds will go to the Friends of the Northwest Avalanche Center (FOAC). Tickets are $10 at the door and raffle tickets are $3.

2. On October 27th at Boundary Bay Brewery in Bellingham, there will be the Alpine Safety Awareness Program (ASAP) fund raiser, Dean Cummins will be there as the celebrity auctioneer. Tickets are $10 at the door and include an all you can eat fish taco bar. There will be a live and silent auction, and so far the collection of gear looks really good.


3. On November 17th at the Mountaineers club house in lower Queen Anne will be the first annual Northwest Snow and Avalanche Summit (NSAS). The line up of speakers is really good, and will provide an incredible educational opportunity for avalanche professionals and recreationalists. Tuition for this event is $25.

4. Following NSAS, will be the annual Snow Bash fund raiser at the Tractor Tavern, as in years past, there will be an auction, and again the collection of gear looks really good. More information about this event will follow soon.


I hope as many of you as possible can attend these events as they will support programs that all of us backcountry enthusiasts will benefit from.
