It has been 2 years since our previous visit. There are 2 new lifts in the Outback Bowl on the back side. They removed the Snow Ghost 2-seat lift and replaced it with a Colburn triple. The Colburn starts a bit higher off the Vagabond trail and stops at the same place as the old lift. They also installed a new Cedar Park express. The tree skiing off this lift is fantastic. They removed many trees and it provides tree skiing at any level. With the 4" of new fresh, it was wonderful in the trees and on groomed trails. The steep trails and bump terrain were icy. Jill rode single with 3 young guys on the kids ski racing team and they agreed about the terrain. It is always enjoyable to ride with someone who will tell you the real skiing situation. The top 25% of the terrain off the Great Escape quad was in fog, so we skied off the Basin express and the Outback Bowl on the back side which was below the "fog" line.

They charge $15 to park in the Lakeview parking lot. We parked for free in the Village Lane parking area and walked 40 feet to ski down the Happy Trails run and then rode the Musical Chairs lift to get up to the ticket window. We received our free lift tickets with our Powder Alliance passes.

This was a nice way to spend Valentine's Day. :D

Thanks for the reports Zap - been a while since I've been out there, sounds nice with the new lift. Down to 3-day work week. End of year stop work so will have a better chance to catch you and Jill!!
