April 21, 2019 Summit West

It was noon. Sun and a slight wind to make it cool and wide open slopes. I planned to skin up Main Chute but there was a large group of "climbers" training on the slope. All the terrain around the Pacific Crest lift were in wonderful shape.  Boy, it was a wonderful afternoon in the sun in the mountains on snow.  There are times when it it is not how steep, how deep the fresh powder is or how scary that run was.  Many times it is being in the mountains.

What a great observation...
This is every time for me. So many times I here about how horrible the conditions are (cloudy, windy, rainy, icy, etc.) and all I can think is how great of a time I had in those conditions. There is nothing else like being on snow in the mountains.
