March 25, 2019 Sugar Bowl

Yes, we are back again and used our Powder Alliance passes for free tickets. The storm is coming on Tuesday evening and the wind is starting. It was partially sunny with the clouds coming. The snow pack is enormous. It was a groomer day and because of the warm front the surface was softening. The winds were in the 40+ mph and gusting. We used the Judah, Jerome Hill, and Disney express lifts. We only made one run on the Mt. Lincoln express lift. It stopped briefly near the top, and once we got off the lift it was a struggle to move against the wind to the start of the trails. The crest at 8383' is the high point and that is where we had ta taste of what is coming wind-wise. There were few customers so we put down fresh tracks on the groomers with each run. Sugar Bowl started in 1939, and what history there is in these "hills"!
