Feb 11 Crystal

The 10" of new was over a very icy base on the Frontside. 3 runs on Memorial showed that compensating with speed worked to keep off the icy base. And the search was on for where all the windblown pow ended up. Exterminator was a big step up, deeper and softer underneath. Northway was the place. Calf, knee, and crotch deep over a packed pow base. No lift line so laps were quick. Took 5 laps to track out my favorite no-traverse line. Employee Housing was more of the same in the spots where nobody goes. I-5 a little slow with the new snow - looked like a long walk for the snowboarders. Didn't set a ski on a groomed run. After all the ice and firm bumps, a most excellent day.

Drive up was car face shots with the deep snow as you passed scared newbie drivers holding up miles of other cars. Snow all the way down to MM Dam. Raining in Enumclaw that will be some good black ice tomorrow morning. Snowing again in Black Diamond.
