Not much of a crowd. Loading resulted in some areas that were knee deep dry powder of very good quality. Was able to reach the tarmac below on most turns. At the end of the day all steep sections were scraped bare with blue ice below. Interesting day. Reminded me of Utah early season when you could destroy you bases with a couple feet of new. Rare at Snoqualmie. Lower sloped runs held up well though

Alpental was similar. Snow was at it's best first thing with pow over groomers. Between the crowds and conditions I only superficially sampled chair 2 and the runs were not that great. As the afternoon wore on, the blue ice zones kept getting bigger and bigger.
