April 5, 2016 Stevens Pass 11" Powder

The forecast on Monday was a storm arriving in the afternoon. When Stevens closed, the storm arrived and the telemetry and the ski report was WOW.   Jill and I got there early and we parked in the front row. We stopped into the office and got some free tickets. At 8:30am, a line was building at the base of the Kehr's chair for the access to the Mill Valley. It was a better plan to ski the front side lifts for seniors. It was a deserted front side for 2 hours. It was a great mix of  11” powder and then some groomers at the base. The area had everything open. During our ride up the Tye Mill lift,  the youth were flying over the cliff and rock terrain with speed. The temperature started to rise around 11am and there were folks arriving. The early arrive folks starting  to leave at 11:30am as we were departing. A bonus powder day in April.
