Whistler 3/16-17

After 2-3' of alpine snow in the previous 4 days the sun really brought the fun out. The whole mountain has been super soft pack with no hint of ice anywhere. The trees still hold the goods as it has stayed cold. Hiked Flute and got 2' of perfect powder on north facing slopes. Yea it's skied out in the obvious, close areas but not everywhere. Traversed in today and enjoyed the same quality snow.

Lower Peak to Creek was groomed for probably the first time in two years. Except for the last 800' it offered the best uncrowded high speed crushing in the world! Every turn was on perfect cold edging snow.

A word of mouth, impromptu whistler style party erupted in an out of bounds area west of the ski area. With St Patrick's day as the excuse, 500 happy people played in the sun and hit jumps, climbed tall trees, and partied the afternoon away. I hope everyone got down safe.
