Amazing, 8" of very light powder by 1430. This northerly flow is wringing every bit of moisture out of the air at Mission. Is there such a thing as "river effect"? I don't think it's stopped snowing yet, we got another quick inch in Wenatchee this morning.
Snowed hard all day yesterday, easy inch an hour.
Telemetry shows .05" which is a bit odd. I would guess that s/w ratios are around 30:1 or higher.

Well the wind right now is coming down the Columbia Gorge and getting funneled right up Squilchuck Canyon. The NWS has completely missed this the past two days on the point forecast for Mission Ridge area.

Not sure if you remember this or not but four years ago when Elisa and I were coming home from Utah there was a similar system to what we had a couple of days ago. That time the weather was visible from south of Spokane. This time I looked for it but couldn't see anything. You guys got nine inches then. Looks like you got eight inches this time.

River effect is what is responsible for the micro snow belt at Le Massif, a ridge on the shore of the St. Lawrence (much larger) river near Quebec City.
