1/27/2012 Crystal Mountain

Nothing bad today. Sun, cold, soft snow, great buddies. Avie Basin to Employee Housing and everything in-between. Go anywhere snow, do anything snow. Missed the new snow yesterday due to a home repair issue as we were walking out. But today, with the sun, was awesome. The sunniest aspects suffered some sun damage that didn't affect us today, but will be crunchy tomorrow. Shaded/NorthFacing aspects will be best for starters tomorrow until the hordes skier groom the sun-crunch. Favs of the day – Avie Basin, Employee Housing, Exterminator, Powder Bowl. Last run out Left Angle Trees was Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and oh so fun. I-5 out is fast and painless.

Cant add a lot other than – few more rocks back at the top of HC but not really a issue, no real crowds or lift lines – except FQex which seemed to be running half speed if that, most everything is filled in across the mountain, had fun doing a number of lines for the first time this season, new big Employee run is impressive – but cant say that I-5 is painless, a number of dead cats on the slopes again today – been a few of those this week, but gotta say lots of fun on the mountain today. Met some more new folks, skiied a run with Theo! lots of fun. Wasn’t ready to quit, want to go tomorrow, but…Lots of buses in A lot, fair number of pay folks, actually a lot of cars in B and C - don’t really know where all those folks were.
