New version backcountry skiing and snowboarding trip reports:
The new version works in a bulletin board or forum style: instant posting of trip reports and a venue for others to reply. The open-source YaBB software used for the new version seems to work well, and has a lot of nice features, including search, preview of messages before posting, and private messaging. The approximately 340 backcountry trip reports received from April, 2001 through August, 2002 have been copied over to the new version to create an instant searchable archive. You must register and log-in to post messages and use some of the features, but you don't have to do so to browse. Over the next few months, the "trip report" button found in the top bar on many pages in the turns-all-year web site will have its link changed to point to the new version trip reports, but don't forget to update your bookmarks.

You are at the old version now. It will continue to exist as an archive, for trip reports from April, 2001 through August, 2002. It will retain the original format of an entire month of trip reports on one page, and may be useful for browsing. It will no longer be updated with new trip reports.
