April 29, 2008 Willamette Pass Dusk Patrol
« on: 04/29/08, 09:24 PM »

Todd and I left Springfield (aka Springtucky) at 3pm for a Willamette Pass dusk patrol.  The lifts have been shut down for a couple of weeks.  The forecast was calling for snow, and we found the pow pow.  We left the truck while it was dumping.  The sun came out for about 20 minutes on the skin up.

At the top, we had our obligatory IPA and then it started snowing again.  The ride down was epic.  I've had a lot of pow this year, but it doesn't get much better than this, especially on April 29!  Gotta love La Nina` winters Grin

If I didn't have a night meeting tomorrow, I'd head back up for some more!

And my fool ass, sitting on the frozen chairlift with a bottle of suds, thought the IPA might actually be the highlight of the trip.  Proven wrong once again.

I will never again tell you that I have a light workload when snow is in the forecast.  I'll be leaving early, tomorrow (yes, this is my formal, in-writing request).  You know where I'll be if anything comes up at work.  Don't expect me to answer the phone.

Have fun at your night meeting.  I'll have an obligatory IPA for you.
