Wayne and I enjoyed the April goodness of powder on Chair Peak skiing the north descent to Snow Lake. As we made our way quickly to Source Lake, we could hear much hooting and hollering above. It seemed hundreds were skiing the Alpental backcountry, devouring all possible lines off the traverse into Pineapple Pass.
By the time we reached the base of Chair Peak, one other group of two joined us.
As we began our descent my first few turns produced marginal sloughing. As the slope steepened the snow held nicely though occasionally we found crusty chunks of previous debris hidden beneath the recent snow. Knee deep snow continued down to Snow Lake.
We were both beaming as we made our way across the lake and back to the car. Ending our day with a cold one in the crowded Alpental bar. Another amazing day in the mountains!!
