After a good nights sleep at the family cabin we left for home going the long way. We decided to go back via Sherman Pass and see what would we could find. We got to the pass and there was about one inch of new snow. What a huge difference from one range to another. Kootenay got dumped on and Sherman not far away got nothing. We met Kieth the forest service ski ranger at the trailhead and he was super cool. We skiied up and it was easy pleasant skiing. the fresh was just enough to have great traction. We got up to the steeper slopes and the snow did not get any better. We decided that when we reached the point we had to use our risers we would stop and ride down. We had a fun little fun down and some cool tree cruising and also some shitty tight trees. I got poked in the back by a branch and the snow was horrible at the bottom. Hindsight told us we should have cut over more to the east and it wold have been clear sailing. It was dumping when we left. I can't wait to get back there when there is good snow. Sorry no pics.

I wish I had a dollar for every time I thought or said that line.
I know it is a long way from Loop Loop and Methow, but looking at their webcam shots, it's surprising that there is enough snow there given the warming on the Eastern slopes.
Good job!
For future reference there is plenty of snow above the pass level. I would say at least 60+ inches. Could be some excellent spring corn when it finally decides to be spring again!
