The weather break that began yesterday afternoon luckily held this morning. We started skinning at 745, about half an hour behind a group of 15 Swiss mountaineer trailbreakers, not too much wind, nice steady pace and found the summit also fairly calm and not too cold. The ski down was longer than Lampsen yesterday, perhaps a little more settled powder, but a ton of it!

Yeah, interesting to compare with Greg Louie's reports. I'd suggest when freezing level is low enough in the Alps, stay away from the big mountains (stadium) and ski great powder below 3000m (in the cathedral, per Anatoli Boukreev.)
