I figured I'd try to get a discussion going on the said topic as I'm interested in avalanche study. Just curious to get some thoughts on the measureble snow fall to hit this weekend and the potential for avalanche danger due to the brief warm up experienced this week...

I was doing some hiking around the Hyak area Sunday and my buddy Ed set off a small avalanche on a pretty mild hill. If you look close you can see it just below the cliffs going into the trees.

Later when I was leaving they had closed the pass due to an avalanche that blocked the road westbound, west of the summit. Seems this snow is sliding pretty easy.
