In an out clouds suggested an acclimitization day, so we headed up with several possible destinations. After 900m, slightly above Defregger, we decided on the easiest and most direct choice given the wind and clouds. Just (50? 150? meters) shy of the summit, we turned around in a whiteout.
Great 2" light powder on a solid crust brought us down 500m to better visibility, then butter and clearing skies. Wish we had started later.... Cornfest down to the hut and an afternoon of rest for me, and beers and ballads for the rest of the group. Euroski day at its finest.
