I'm not too familiar with hood, but is it possible to ski-base off the summit? I'm not going to do it, but i think this guy should go back and tag the summit, then he could do rainier and go off the sunset amphitheater...

I don't think the summit of Mt Hood has high enough cliffs for a BASE jump. By this I mean a jump in which the chute is deployed AFTER leaving the ground, not before. On the other hand, Hood has been flown by paragliders a number of times. With a paraglider, you lay out the chute ahead of time and inflate it before leaving the ground. The first known paragliding descent from the summit of Hood was in June 1988 by Michael Koerner of Everett. That flight and many more are documented in the following article:
