Given Ron's excellent photo and map posted at TAY yesterday, and given the bad forecast for tomorrow, I decided to head up today.  Left home 730, started up from Paradise at 1030 following Ron's map, saw Greg Lange and Lara from Edmonds at Pan Point having finished their day, they suggested alternate route up.  I ended up walking the ridge between Muir Snowfield and Paradise Glacier which was dry all the way, fine for tennis shoes or tevas.  Skied from 8800' to a point where Greg had crossed over to Muir Snowfield (7800?) then ~500' more to Pebble Creek where the snow ended.

Just about there I met a couple about 3PM carrying firn gliders and heading up.  They asked "Are you one of those Turns All Year people?" and I had to fess up.  But how was your ski, you two, come out of the lurker closet and give us a post! 8)

Pretty darn good snow for September, but not very steep.

Ski start UTM coordinates

My route up was interesting since I had never done it before, but for efficiency I suggest just following the regular trail from Paradise toward Muir and turn right at ~8800'.  Maybe there was more snow where the Paradise Glacier gets steep (the red line on the map Ron posted), but being alone and without expert and experienced companions from the Muir all year club, I took the easy way.  ;)

Tommorow may provide fresh snow there?  ;D
Thanks for the great report Silas.
We'll reciprocate.
