Rain and high freezing levels does not deter my pal Wolfgang from finding good skiing, it only challenges him!  Today we headed just over the Brenner Pass into Italy (really just another part of South Tirol, used to be Austria a few years ago,eh?)  It may have been the only place for miles where it was not snowing or raining.  The trailhead at 4600´had just enough coverage to ski, and we headed up in like home humidity and snow.  Skiing down was much better than expected, we enjoyed (or should I say that I enjoyed watching Wolfi) chat with the forest rangers who raced up to the summit in their Trab duo sintesis and Scarpa F1s just after we arrived.  Great day with friend and family!

Now that's core. Government issue no doubt.

What else would the Italians use?  Good to hear you made it to Italy- Ciao.
