(oops...added this one to the "non-backcountry posts" accidentally. Sorry about that)
Strong winds but very clear sky. Everything above about 4,500 was hard as a rock. We then enjoyed rather nice corn for about 300 feet before hitting mashed potatoes.
Did anyone experience anything different than this scenario yesterday?
Of note: for the lower half of the ski we followed the main slide path over the waterfall and out to the road. The area below the falls looked like a blast zone. Many trees laid out like toothpicks. Trees that were still standing had branches broken 40+ feet up their trunks. Very impressive!
