The three of us had a great backcountry day yesterday. There is loads of touring over here. And lift tickets are cheap!

Welcome to the group.  It is great to see adventures to new places.  I remember hauling my ski gear to Japan for a business meeting,  ;), after my company was purchased by a Japanese firm.  I really enjoyed the photos and links.


Hi Steve,  I was wondering when you guys were going to Japan.  Looks like good winter for skiing.  That little shrine on a peak is so classic Japanese, those things are everywhere!

Keep posting,  I may be skiing there someday.

Wow, I have been dreaming of skiing in Japan and so it is nice to see your report!  I've been hearing that Japan really has big snow packs, long runs,  heaps of powder and tons of side/backcountry.  Your pictures suggest this is true not to mention extremely alpine/ beautiful situation.......  Looking for to your future tr's.....
