Sholes Glacier, crevasse hazards? was created by Alan Brunelle
I was up at Coleman Pinnacle this week and looking beyond, the Sholes glacier has really piqued my interest.

As a solo skier, is this body of ice and snow crevassed enough to suggest I stay away. There seems to be a little ice/firn becoming exposed on it in parts and yet there seems to be little evidence of significant crevasse hazard on this glacier.

This seems like it would be a great late season objective.

I saw a great set of tracks on it.

I skied the Shoals Glacier last weekend. There are many lines safe for solo travel. Stay on the ridge that Camp Kaiser is on and ski the slopes above Camp Kaiser for a few huundred feet of smooth corn that lasts into August. Right now you can climb N. from the Portals to access the W side of Shoals Glacier for a relatively safe 800' run.
