I had only a few hours to get some turns in, so I headed to Hyak for some laps.
As I drove past Chevron the sign said 29 degrees, I wondered how heavy the snow would be, on opposite sides of the road perched two T.V. crews, lurking like vultures.

As I began, light snow fell in solitude, no others except the fresh skin track beneath which I was following.
I was pleasantly surprised at the top when the snow yielded knee deep fluffy turns off the groomed.  The visibility was less than good, so I opted to stay in the trees for what small clarity I could find.

Two runs and I thought best not to push my luck with the Pass closing for avalanche control, as I could hear the occasional detonation ring through the hills.
Fortunately, when I got onto the highway the DOT sign went from 'Avalanche Control Ahead €¦35 mph€™ to 'Road Closed€™.
This was the first and probably the last time I will ever look behind me on I-90 at and see not a car.
