Valhalla.

It's hard to summarize what 8 days at 7000' with 10 people was like in a pithy and amusing way. So I shall simply recite the facts, in an approximately sequential order.

1. We flew in on a helicopter.
2. There were 10 of us
3. The food was amazing (beginning with Elk stew for lunch and fennel rubbed tuna loin the day we arrived and ending with Lamb shanks, grilled quail, and black trumpet mushrooms the day we left).
4. The snow started out deep, dry, and light, which made for 4 days of spectacular tree skiing but higher avy danger.
5. Then high winds came, removing all the snow in the alpine, allowing us to climb high and see the spectacular views.
6. The views were spectacular.
7. The tree skiing was spectacular.
8. We averaged about 4000' vertical each day, sometimes more sometimes less.
9. We occasionally wore Wagnerian viking hats.
10. Much beer and scotch was consumed.
11. We left on a helicopter.
