Skinned up to the base of Chair Peak and skied down to Snow Lake today.
The snow was wind effected with ice, hard slab, and soft wind deposited snow.
A party skiing in front of us set of a wind slab the broke about 100 feet across and a foot deep.
Fortunately they were not caught in it. :)
Later while touring out of the lake basin I set of another wind slab that was about 1 to 2 feet deep and about 15 feet across. I was able to dig my edges in and let in slide past me. :D
We decided to tour back up towards Chair Peak to get some of that nice pow we saw on the way up. The best turns of the day!
