6 of us skied into Lake Ann on Sunday and skied nice fast silky powder on a crust. Dave and I then built a snow cave at the rear left corner of the lake while the others went home. We had been eyeing the nice west ridge coming from Pt. 7846 on Shuksan and decided to give that a try on Monday. After a warm and quiet sleep, we woke up early and skied by moonlight down into the basin below Lake Ann. We ran into some wind slabs and had difficulty finding a good route to gain the base of the ridge so we decided to leave this route for another day. Great weekend!
