And it was---not super windy, but gusts to 30 mph., light snow and 17 deg. f. made the place well named.
George, Grant, Erin & I went up this AM, road open @ 8:30 & snow-covered the whole way.
Lots more fresh than the NWAC weather had indicated. 2" new at the parking lot, and 1-2' underfoot all day. Significant crust 3-12" down, from Thursday a ranger said, and another below it from Monday. All the N slopes we skied were very light fluff on crust and stable. No slide activity seen, just tree bombs and some collapsed cornices.
We did 3 runs in the Toilet Bowl. The last one was well right of the main valley, and was quite a bit steeper. Some surface sluffs, but the new snow was bonded to the top crust.
The road was closed to up traffic around 1 PM, and people were encouraged to leave early.

Thanks for the report from the Olympics!
Someday I should ski the Olympics...maybe when I grow up.
