Skied SW facing trees and glades from ~5600' to pass level. Pleasant skin up, pleasant trip home. No pits dug, but ~boot-top/calf "medium density" powder atop, but possibly precariously bonded to, a solid crust made for downright reasonable skiing. Wetter snow abounded below ~3500'. No instability noted, but we didn't go hunting for it either; tree wells were a greater concern. Snowing moderately through much of the morning, with a moderately stiff (~20-25 mph) W breeze at the ridgetops.
Precipitation was still falling as snow at and somewhat below pass level (switched gears somewhere below Exit 47ish).
Nice mellow day in the snow with an old friend.
