This view shows Avalanche Gulch on Mt Shasta, following our ski ascent of this route and ski descent of the West Face (see trip report). This was a huge snow year on Mt Shasta, and snow coverage is excellent for early June.

This shows a closer view from the bottom of Avalanche Gulch on Mt Shasta, following another ski descent a month later (see trip report). Although things have melted out substantially during the month of June, snow coverage remains excellent for early July. The Left of Heart variation which goes left of the Red Banks has continuous snow onto the summit plateau.
