I spent most of the morning working on a VR pan from the top of Sasse Ridge at sunrise (linked below) so this TR will just be the good news / bad news.

Wednesday was a beautiful day, clear and cold, warming in the afternoon. Unfortunately from about 1 to 4:30 pm two or more snowmobilers, who chose not to respect the voluntary non motorized area signage, thoroughly trashed good portions of the frontside. Riiip reeeeeeep, rip rip reeeep as they got stuck and unstuck all afternoon, with the sound even echoing back from Red Mtn. So loud that one might think that they were using illegal tuned pipes. Oh, but I'm sure that they would not think of such a thing. Sorry for mentioning it.

On Thursday we made it to Dawg Peak (5780'+) and got a few nice turns down to the upper bowl. The upper bowl area had suffered from too much sun and wind, and had a nasty little crust. The frontside was rather chunky too, but below 4600 feet the skiing was excellent through the trees. Anywhere between 6 and 10 inches of unconsolidated snow, also known as 'powder', to use the word rather loosely. It warmed up above freezing by the time we left and the snow became gloppy in any areas that got any sun at all.

The panorama: it's in virtual realty format, ~7 mb and requires the DevalVR viewer that my other pans use. There is a link to the DevalVR download here.

Because it's a partial pan covering 250 degrees (not a full 360) the latest DevalVR plugin should be used. This was the first pan I've tried with my new 12 mp Elph; The resolution is really quite good compared to what I was getting with my 6 mp camera. Check Fife's Peaks for example.
