Lot's of snow-machine fumes and noise in the parking lot.
Hard trail breaking in the old growth forest.
Great views of Rainer to the west and Mt Stuart to the east from the ridgeline.
Saw a HUGE fracture line running across the entire slope above Margaret Lake.
Snow in the old growth between ridgeline and 4300ft was calf-deep, pretty heavy but OK.
Between 4300ft and 3900ft the snow got much wetter, heavier and stickier -- I was getting huge clumps of snow building up under my heels and ball of foot with each tele-turn. Between 3900ft and where we intersected the road at 3500ft the snow was mushy grannular snow just starting to refreeze. (4:15pm) We skiied the snow-machine packed road 4832 to get back down to the lake level.

Thanks Randy,
Glad it turned out to be a bluebird day above the fog for your trip. It is good to get some idea for later in the week. Sorry to steal M+P away from you.
Probably run into you soon, John.
