Silas asked me to post some European activity at this website. Greetings to who remembers me.
I was in the Sellrain Area with a good friend. We arrived at midnight on december 28th slept down in the valley to walk up to the hut Westfalenhaus the next day. As not all huts are maintained during the winter they will have a winter room. Which is small, has bunks, and oven, table and chairs and give you shelter from the elements. We also had running water outside. The avalanche danger was low at 1 and the snow conditions were good. The first day we set out to the Winnebacher WeiÃkogel. Overnight it snowed which was great for the Hoher Seeblaskogel. Its a straighforward summit and as we reached the top the view cleared. On the last day we went up to the Schöntalspitze (see the picture) and over it back to the car.
PS.: There are summits around where the summit cross gets stolen from time to time ?!
