happy new year!  Kelvin, GregL, Kona, and I met Jdclimber and Mike in Monroe this morning.  a tree fell on the highway 2 and karate chopped Mike's pickup -- cracked his camper shell but no personal injury.  when I pulled into the parking lot in Monroe I almost ran over Silas as he was exiting the grocery store.  we exchanged a few words and his group decided on Mooonlight bowl.  there's a nice skin track up Yod, and now there's a nice one up the south side.  the snow was fairly light.  Kelvin found what appeared to be a weak layer 1m from surface.  after our first run down the south side (950 vf), we met up with Ari, Jerm, and Yak-Nam.  we skied another run down the south side, but more skier's right.  more of the same:  good untracked pow-pow through spaced trees.  but a few small pockets exposed to yesterday's sun left a thin crust.  the third run we dropped down toward the highway.  fluffy.  back up again to gain vert for the ski/traverse back to car.  i will post photos after we get out of this slow traffic outside of Sultan.

Edited to add photos

Great to hook up with you, Kam!

Awesome trip guys. Great pics, it reminds me why I don't carry a camera, as it would only pale in comparison to your art.
With Kelvin's pit findings and in light of the telemetry of this morning as well as reports from elsewhere, including skyline ridge, I think it might be worth noting that avalanche conditions appear to be extremely local, thereby making the NWAC bulletin more of a "guideline" than usual. I would think increased pit digging and conservative skiing (in terms of avy) should be a proper approach to what we have currently coating our fine hills.
Was a pleasure skiing with you all.

Nice skiing with you guys. It sure is nice when somebody else breaks a trail for you!

Did a little digging .. It seems one of those old chairlifts became High Campbell at Crystal!

That olive oil trick made me want to regurgitate. At least he could mix it with balsamic and carry some romaine in his pack.

Damn...Jen and I were at the pass staying with some friends in their motor home, we contemplated the  Yodelin  tour but skied the lifts instead ::) great photos, but I would expect no less.... catch you next time 8)

Nice pictures guys!! Happy new year!
Nice to see these heavily loaded trees!
