Just a quick little outing up into the glades of Margaret. Met a tele-er (Brian) who turned back just as the bushwhacking was getting good and the skiing getting crappy. I was even intending to implement Zap's rule about first tracks, but he was wily enough to get 'em before I noticed he'd turned around! Fun high calf medium density powder down one of the trails the 'bilers hadn't tracked up yet (met 'em as I descended), and hardening snowmobile tracks down the fire roads. Thanks to the snowshoers who installed the uptrack!
The soft blanket was well bonded to the _thick_ ~finger/pencil hard crust as high as my high point of ~4k, with no obvious signs of instability. Precipitation descended gently all afternoon, getting wetter and more fine with time.
The snow/rain line was ~exit 47 on the way home at ~3:30 pm.
New skis are fun.
