The next day we headed over to Blackcomb backcountry again with the day starting in a whiteout. Aaron retreated from his overnight bivvy on Decker in the whiteout and just missed hooking up with us in the Blackcomb Glacier by less then 15 minutes.
We headed over to the Spearhead where it started clearing up then did laps in the Spearhead then came back up and over Corona Bowl

Nice posts. How far (distance and time) off the lifts are these glaciers? I've been to the blackcomb glacier but am not familiar with these. Sounds like a fun trip
They're really not that far. Just a ridge over from the Blackcomb Glacier so very close to inbounds. Taking our time got there in about 2 hours from bottom of Showcase T-bar. This might help - http://john_baldwin.bivouac.com/whistler.htm

Lee, Thanks for the info and great links! I have 2 trips planned up there - one in Feb and the other in April and I'm thinking the April trip would be perfect time to get out there.
Trust me on this. Go when the weather's good - so if its good weather in February then take the opportunity.
Great, sharp photos. And I like surface hoar---when it's on the surface.

The map is pretty cool and can lead to all sorts of daydreaming.

What andre said. I've been touring the Whistler Blackcomb sidecountry for about 10 years now and still haven't knocked off every possible tour or pitch on that map
