Went down to Mt. Rainier yesterday and climbed up to about 9500' on the Van Trump Glaciers. Snow started at about 5500' or so. Made the divide on the Wilson Glacier at about 12:00. 4 1/2 hours from TH. Hung out and watched three rope teams of 4 endrunning around the endless crevass systems of the lower Nisqually Glacier, just below the icefall. That didn't look like fun. Anyway, the turns were great, nice soft corn down to Van Trump Park, from there it got sloppy and a little more sun cupped, but was manageable.
