A snow report that might help post Thanksgiving planning:
The first ski camping trip of the season this Tues - Wed, back to my usual winter campsite on Sasse Ridge. Jane came along for company and I'm sure this was a delightful change from our last overnight trip to Goat Lake in the fog and rain. The weather was perfect, with maybe 3 inches of snow at the parking lot to perhaps 6 at 3800 feet. We were able to skin up right from the car, but there was enough melting by the time we came out that we ended up walking down from the 2800 foot hairpin.

Yesterday we got up at our usual early time, hiked up a short distance to the road and then skinned up the road to ~5500'. It's just road skiing now, but our run down was quite delightful for the first skiing of the year. Three or four inches of new snow on top of harder snow.

As of today, I'd consider Rd 4315 just a place to practice or play on skinny skis, but only if you don't mind walking from the 2370 ft TH to ~2800 feet.
