After a whole day of talking about snow we were eager to get out and play in it a little and after running into Scotsman and gang at Snowbash we readily changed our destination.  We got a decently early start and were the second car at the Blue Lake TH.  No up track into the bowl was good sign.  Decent coverage above the lake for some good turns.  Wind affected top 4" on most aspects.  Kicked a cornice off going NE that readily shaved off the top 4" on a 45 degree + slope.  Skiing pretty good in the bowl.  Almost a 5,000 foot day and everyone was happy.  Good friends, value them at every opportunity and ski when you can.
Good to meet you at Snowbash, Oyvind. So, the Portman Bowl is above Blue Lake?  I've only skied near SEW/Blue Peak.
Also, how was Rt. 20 on Sunday PM?  I'm hoping it stays open this week.

looks like an awesome day you guys!  way to beat the crowds up the hill too.  8)
