For our Father's day outing, my 10yr old Zach and I headed up to Paradise with our friend Dave. We arrived at about 8:45 and started the slog up the main highway to Pan Point (me skinning, Dave and Zach hiking). Weather and views were superb - much better than expected. We reached our high point at about 8000 feet on Muir Snowfield by a bit after 12. We dove down into one of the chutes toward Nisqually glacier - beautiful conditions that left us shouting for joy. After a couple of short yo-yos we did a long run (about 1500 ft) all the way down. Dave and I did another short run while Zach built a jump. We climbed back out and skied the gentle rollers back down to parking lot - arriving about 3:45. A gorgeous day, really fun skiing, and my son's first real big-mountain tele skiing adventure. He's really hooked now!
I posted a photo of Zach heading down into the big chute at Telemarkphotos (don't know how to post here)
