Scotsman, Snowbell, Stihlfree and I met at the 65th Street P&R in Seattle today at 5am.  We met up with Baldwin in Bellingham on the way to Table Mt.

We did a figure eight tour around table and Ptarmingan Peak.  It included the following ski descents: descent off of the SE end of Table Mt, a western descent down Wells Creek, a N descent off Ptarmigan Peak (on the East end of ptarmigan Ridge) and a North descent of Table Mt, including the InterGlacier section.

Conditions were as follows: 6-8 inches of new snow (not completely consistent) on top of a firm base of perhaps 12-16 inches.  Still many obstacles abound, but found plenty of very enjoyable skiing between the obstacles.

Looks like the Baker ski resort needs another 12" to open.

In the AM, vis was good and winds light.  By noon, the wind had picked up on ridge tops to 15-25mph.  Light winds in the valleys, though.  Vis remained good throughout the day (although the light was flat due to cloud cover).

By the time we left the parking lot at 3:30pm (4200'), the temp. was 38 degrees.

Overall, a very nice tour.  Thanks to all who participated.
A great day with really good snow and a group of great skiers.  A special thanks to Snow Bell for being persistent about getting to the top of Ptarmigan Peak and thereby providing the highlight descent of the day. Also to Baldwin for all the trail breaking and to Stihlfree and Richard for the great company.

I also had the pleasure of meeting and skiing a run with the legendary Tim_Place and his partner. That Mr.Place sure knows how to lay down a sweet turn in powder. :)It was an honor to meet you Tim.
Scotsman ;D

It sure was a great day!  We lucked out with the conditions.  Quality snow, temps and visibility all came together for us.  Judging by the telemetry, it looks like it rained after we left.
Many thanks to everyone involved.  Scotsman for driving, Baldwin for cutting track and setting a solid pace, ect. ect.  We were fortunate to run into Tim and company who were kind enough to share some rout info as well as some turns.  All in all it couldn't have shaped up much better.

It is truly an enchanted incarnation; that of a skier.
