A very pleasant day on Baker - sunny and almost no wind (once you got above the morning drizzle/rain/snow). Route is fine shape, no crevasse problems. Saw millions of climbers (many large guided groups), but only 1 other skier, Eric from Vancouver.
Unbelievably calm and warm on the summit, but the Roman Wall was still icy on the descent (11:30am?) - should have waited longer or started later I guess. Not as much new snow as we expected - only accumulations of a few inches here and there. Snow was smooth and soft down lower (mix of packed powder, corn, wet stuff), then kind of slushy once we re-entered the fog layer (~8000ft). Skied to where the trail crosses the last (easternmost) stream.
Stream crossings were no problem.
