Went up to Chinook Pass yesterday. Looked a little thin at the pass. Maybe 4-6" or so.
I had been up there hiking a few days before and knew that it had blown in nicely on the south side of Sourdough Gap. We skinned all the way to the gap. Made three runs on the south side and then skied down to Sheep Lake. We were able to ski or should I say not walk until the trail turns and starts to contour the valley back to the parking lot. Our skin track melted out except for the last half mile or so. Hard to believe it was only the 4th of October.

Nice work! Impressive tracks on the steeper section on the high point above Sourdough Gap (saw your tracks when Kevin and I were skiing there yesterday (Oct. 5th). Thanks for setting the skin track along the PCT; it greatly facilitated our gliding approach in the morning.
Oops... ::) I meant to say it blew in nicely on the North side of the gap. It was a little rocky skiing the ridge down from the peak. But it looked so nice in the sun and I couldn't resist.
