E-mail addresses:
You are required to include an e-mail address when you register (choose a username and password). The username and password are used to log-in. It is necessary to be logged-in in order to be able to post or reply to messages, and use some of the other Trip Reports features.

During registration, using the checkbox, you can choose to automatically hide your e-mail address from public display whenever you post (you are encouraged to check this box). In addition, whenever you are logged-in, you can change this via the Profile link.

The e-mail address you submit to Turns All Year Trip Reports will not be shared, loaned, leased, sold or in any way transmitted to any other person or organization without your written permission. Your e-mail address might be used to contact you with information regarding Turns All Year Trip Reports or related web sites, such as www.turns-all-year.com, but such contact would be infrequent, at most.

E-mail addresses and spam:
Spammers have the ability to "harvest" e-mail addresses from web pages, including those containing posts in Trip Reports. It is strongly recommended that you not include any an e-mail addresses in a post. Some people choose to include their e-mail address cryptically in a post (for example: s*k*i*e*r AT t*u*r*n*s-a*l*l-y*e*a*r DOT c*o*m = skier@turns-all-year.com).

A different option is to use the personal messaging system built into Trip Reports. If you are logged-in, you should see an "Personal Message" link on the left side of each post, below the poster's name; clicking this will allow you to send the poster an instant message independent of standard e-mail. See this help thread for more information on personal messaging.

Posting personal information:
It is strongly recommended that you not include personal information such as your phone number or address in a post. All threads are open to viewing by everyone on the internet, as well as information harvesting spiders!
