Having been blown off of Sahale Arm on Sunday by wind and snow after our climb I had an extra day of my 4 day weekend to toy with. Desperately trying to keep my frst TAY streak alive, I completed month 10 today on the awefully suncupped snowfield. Hikied up to pebble creek in shoes and began skinning from there. Skied to the top of Anvil and had lunch and photos of the goodness above the cloud deck. Skied some not so big cups along anvil and carried skis down maybe 200 vert to a nicely uncupped section of the extreme skiers right on the cowlitz where the best turns were had for some 500 vert before moving back over to Muir proper where the snow skiers left was less cupped and somewhat skiable slush on top of the ice. A beautiful day to go solo and keep the streak alive. I think I may have figured out where the so called pebble stash lies, but maybe not, it was fun trying to find it all day. We need winter.....but we all know that already.
