FS Road, Randle to Trout Lake, Open? was created by BrentH
This is the backdoor to Mt. Adams. I know it was not passable the weekend of May 31-June 1. Is it open now?

There's two routes that I know of, Brent.
FS Rd 23 appears by the map to be the shortest to Trout Lk, opens later in the year and is at least 50% dirt, some of it single lane.
The other route [FS Rds 25/90/88] opens earlier in the year, is 95% paved and all 2 lane and thus a much nicer drive (and I believe faster) than Rd 23.
They're both open according to the Trout Lk RS.
Yeah, Ron. I've heard FS 23 is open now (Randle RS). I wasn't even aware of the other option. I'll check it out. Thanks!

thank's for the road report, I was thinking of doing the south side of adams this weekend 6-28-03. Does anyone have an opinion on the snow surface for this weekend on Adams? I haven't been out skiing the last 2 months. Thanks, Rich.

We found fs road 88 closed Friday night June 27, don't know why or for how long, but we went back to 90 took it north to 23 and followed that south to trout lake.

We found I5, I205, I84 to hood river and then up to trout lake via the 75 cent bridge to be faster and less stressful on the driver anyway. That's what we used to return to Seattle tonight.

We took the Eastern Washington route. Turn right at Ellensburg; stay on 97; right at Goldendale and through Glenwood to Trout Lake. Eastbound and down, loaded up and truckin'.
